By Kyle Gylsen - Pequot Lakes
The SportsCow.com Male Athlete of the Week is Kurtis Moody of the Pequot Lakes boys' basketball team.
Moody went over the 1,000 point mark in his high school career points when he scored 16 against Aitkin on Thursday, January 20.
He became the ninth Patriot boys' basketball player to reach that plateau.
"He knows when we need certain things to happen, whether itís defense or rebounding or a score or an assist," state Pequot Lakes head coach Garry Grewe. "He's getting it done when we need it. He's making plays for us.
"He draws a lot of attention and people toward him and when that happens he's getting assists. A lot of people are focused on him and thatís just making everyone else's job easier. It's not always the same player that steps up either. It's a variety of players we have doing that.
"But with Kurtis you know what you're going to get every single night. He's just become consistent in all facets of his game. Plus, he is an outstanding young man, both on and off the court. I'll be sorry to see him graduate."
In an attempt to get to know our AOTWs a little better, we like to ask them a few questions about their likes/dislikes, etc. Here is how Kurtis answered our questionaire:
