The SportsCow.com Male Athlete of the Week is John Clark of the Sebeka boys' basketball team.

Clark scored his 1,000th career point in the Trojans' 82-52 win over New York Mills to open the season on Tuesday, December 7.

Going into the game, he needed 20 points and he hit the mark early in the second half against the Eagles.  Clark ended the night with 25 points, 17 boards, seven assists and three blocks.

"If I wanted to make a statement about the type of player John is, I would point to this game," said Sebeka head coach Jon Lillquist.  "He had a chance to score his 1,000th point on a tough layup, but instead dished off to a teammate who scored an easy layup.  He later received a nice pass to make an easy layup for his 1,000th point.  It really shows what a team player he is."

"He set a school record last year by taking 32 charges," Lillquist continued.  "To do that, you really need to sacrifice your body and also risk the chance of drawing a foul on yourself.  I always feel kids who do that are making the ultimate team play and he does that on a consistent basis.  He's meant so much to our program that we are all very proud of him and this accomplishment."
